Me too... but eventually those pesky rulers have totally disappeared, and even if I found them, there is no horizontal space clear enough to use them...!
Wish I had a bigger sewing room...it's a little room with slanty ceilings in an old, old house. Suppose I could knock out a wall, but then where would Dad sleep when he comes to visit?

I use to have my sewing room up stairs but now the upstairs is another bed room. Its funny the room was built to be my sewing room but I didn't have any windows in that room I took our bed room down stairs turned it into a living room then I took the old living room and turned it into my sewing room. The room is a dark redish color and it needs to be updated when the weather cools off will paint it a light color. We need to paint many rooms. I like my sewing room down stairs now because I have great ventilation and windows to boot! I'm closer to the kitchen and now I have no excuses! Along with the laundry - talk about multi tasking. Stop afew minutes fold a load, stop afew minutes peel a tator...toss the tators in the water.. they really like to soak till dinner! Now I take all my quilts up stairs to pin because there is carpet we have hard wood floors down stairs,Now I don't know what tator does this day,its a pretty sad day for tator - he might just become tator tots!
Lets not even think of itsy bitsy spider-don't wanna even make him un-happy execpt on webdays. Until then He's happy and I'm happy
My sewing room is kept pretty clean its a very happy room.

I tidy my sewing "space" every Thursday night.
The cleaning lady comes early Friday morning and does the cleaning part. This is a treat sanctioned by DH even in retirement.
When we both worked full time, he didn't want to spend his off time helping me clean the house (guilt, I am REAL good at guilt  ). This is getting more and more difficult as I collect more and more supplies and stuff. Fabric, stabilizers, etc. go into a cabinet in the spare bedroom.
And no, I don't clean the house before the cleaner comes ... I tidy so that all the surfaces get cleaned. I would rather spend the money to get the apartment clean than have someone pick up after DH.

My sewing room is currently in boxes under tarps in the garage. Hole in roof, leaked into the sewing room and the ceiling started to come down. Yikes! Amazingly enough, nothing was damaged! But the room had to be emptied. The roof is now fixed. Waiting for the drywall ceiling to be completed and the new laminate floor put down. Then only HALF of what went out is allowed to come back in! I mean it this time!

I have to pick up in my sewing room after each BOM is done. I pick fabric, audition it, throw it on the table, pick another--you get the idea--and then I am doing that in two color waves so it always looks like we got hit with a tornado. Anyway, then I have to find the table again, put away the light box...the list goes on. Is it clean? Are you kidding--then I go on to something else.

I am planning to start cleaning the whole house once the quilt show is finished... I want a sewing room and the only way I am going to get it is if I CLEAN OUT THE JUNK and old craft stuff I no longer plan to use. Then I will have room for my sewing supplies.
I wonder if my DH would consider building a new addition .... about the size of the current house would do nicely.... HEE HEEE
I must be punch drunk to even dream of it.

This is me also - except its every other Thursday night.Originally posted by LibbiI tidy my sewing "space" every Thursday night.

I tend to keep my room pretty organized. I'm the type that can't create in an unorganized or chaotic environment. If I end up with too many projects out at once, I have to stop and fix it before I can continue.
I also have an issue with unfinished projects... I know... I've chosen the wrong hobby for that!! They actually stress me out! I have 2 UFOs... both are curve patterns which is why they're unfinished... I really have to be in the mood to do curves. Still stresses me out to think of them though!

I have a ping pong table in my sewing "studio". It has left overs from my Louisa Smith project and purchases from my last quilt shop expedition up north. I just got back yesterday from the Wisconsin Quilt Expo where I was going to exercise remarkable restraint and not purchase anything more. HA
ops: Last night I started on 2 projects I got at the Expo; a charm pack project for coasters and I got a strip cutter that I had to try out. I bought 2 baby quilt kits for pregnant coworkers that I am going to have to start today. Clean my sewing room? If I can find what I need at the moment, cleaning is just a wase of time  Gloria

I tend to be a multi tasker to the extreme, so I usually have 3 or 4 projects going on at the same time. I consider them UFOs if I haven't touched them for a while. I actually started working on one of the curve quilts today. Finished 10 blocks!!Originally posted by jbtaz36Kimber, I have a friend that has 0 UFOs. She can't start another project until the current one is finished. She says she won't do as good a job on the second project if the first one isn't finished. As for me, well....................... I should be the poster child for UFOs. Judy in AZ
