Thanks a lot for posting your results, it really is appreciated.

Sorry I forgot to mention the smell ops:

One further thing I have just remembered about spot cleaning ops: is that you should work from the outer edge of the mark inwards, rather than from the center out, as this helps to 'contain' it so that it doesn't get any larger.

WD-40 is something else that could work. I use it for small grease stains on my clothes. Large grease stains I just throw the shirt out...WD-40 has a kerosene base and you will smell like a grease pit forever.

        Hi,
thanks again for all your help. Should anyone wish to see the results of their advice I've just posted the quilt: Hatshepsut - Sporty UK Sue. A blob of glue was on the hat of Scottish Sue (throwing the Hammer). It came off leaving a greasy mark which came off almost completely when followed advice given. It cannot be seen on the photo.
There was also a string of glue on the grass material. That came off easily but nothing could remove the resultant stain. It's covered by a rather oddly shaped quilted grass tuft behind Sue's skirt.
Thanks for all the help - it made such a difference.

Cute quilt Ann Marie. Glad you fixed it. Just reread this thread for future reference. Sure I will need it at some point. I guess she is an Olympic Sue then?
