Looking for and fabric that shows "people we see"

My sister is making a quilt for a raffle for a local elementary school carnival. The theme for the carnival is: "You and me and the people we see". She is looking for fabrics that show people working or doing things. We've found football players and other sports players, postal workers and delivery people, Santa Claus (we see his helpers!) and lots of cowboys. The fabric must show people, not animals in jobs. I have cute smiley faces with nurses hats, not good for this purpose, it must be people.

We need 6 1/2" squares. I've gone through my stash and have only found three fabrics she could use. Teachers? Students? Doctors? Nurses? Carpenters? Builders? (we have Bob the Builder) Police? Firefighters? Store salespeople? Mothers? Fathers? Quilters? Pilots? Military? We need anything that depicts people we see.

Can you help? I will pay for your postage and send you squares of something in return if you have something you could send. We want this quilt to make some money for the school. Last year's made over $600.

Several of the school's children are involved in the designing of the quilt and laying out the squares. They're having so much fun! Any help and any ideas would be greatly appreciated. If you have something you could send, please click on my photo (go ahead, it won't hurt!) and contact me through the form there. Thanks so much!

    I don't think I have anything, but I'll look.

What a wonderful project. Hope you make bundles!

I have a block with an embroidered garbage truck on it (I had planned to use it for my boss who retired a few years ago, but the community quilt didn't come to fruition). I would be happy to send it to you if you want to use it.

Hi, Joanne! I got your note. The truck block doesn't depict any people in it, so it isn't what you are looking for. I will keep looking - I may find something that is closer to what you are looking for. MK

So sorry Elvis wouldn't work out for your quilt. Now, I know he is all shooked up! LOL. I look forward to seeing your quilt come together and I hope it raises alot $$$ this year. A Great Benefit and I applaud your thoughtfulness, kindness. Enjoy.

Thanks for your help. I do need fabric that shows people doing something. Gotta have people and they are supposed to be doing something, that's the requirement the children have made.

Thanks to a "Magnus" a member here, I've found some darling fabric that shows grandmas being grandmas. She's sending me fabric she has by Mary Lou Weidman so I searched for fabric by her and found the grandmas.

Lynn has some fabric showing children farming and gardening, it's so cute!

Thanks for your help and your ideas, we and the children (in Ventura, CA) appreciate it.

I just heard from my sister, she told me more about the children working on this quilt, "It is a group, mostly boys, from K-5th grade. This is their third one and they are so excited!"

I've heard from others who have some great fabric they're going to send. Thanks very much, all of you who are giving a little time to look in your stash, to help children (mostly boys!) make a quilt to help their school. I've never met those children but I'll have soon have a photo or two to share.

The "People we see" quilt raised $2874 for the elementary school. The children who worked on it and the whole school were very pleased. The children can't wait to start on the next one!

Thanks to all who helped make that possible, you know who you are!
