I am going to Egypt for one week on Dec 15 and I understand that there are some good quality cotton fabrics available at the market in Cairo. Is there anything I need to know before I buy some fabric? I will only be buying a small amount to use in a quilt in combination with other fabric or to make throw pillows or table runner.

I hope you have better luck looking for fabric in Egypt than I did in June. According to our guide, about the only way you can buy it in Cairo is the "fabric/garment" district of the city, and then only in full bolts. She tried to find fabric for me to look at in a couple of other cities, but some of the stores were closed when we were there, and some had permanently closed since she had been there last, so I never did get any. Please post pictures of anything you do find!
