Welcome Luv4applique!
I don't recall off-hand much on TQS about lap quilting, but you might want to check out some of Georgia Bonesteel's "Lap Quilting" books. They are available on Amazon, or any bookstore or some quilt shops.

One of the TQS members, Dorfymid, from England is doing the BOM this way. I commented to her once on how nice they look and how was she going to put them together. Apparantly others have asked too, because I noticed that she now shows how she has added sashing to two blocks. Check out her info page. She responded promptly to my comment, I'm sure she could give you some advise.Lyndhurst, Ohio USA - East Side Suburb of Cleveland, Ohio

Your question is very timely, because I just found this wonderful QAYG (quilt as you go) tutorial on how to join the blocks. I think it's the best technique I've come across because it results in flat joined seams, not the lumpy bumpy seams that you get with other techniques. It would work great for a reversible quilt. Here's the link http://quiltingtwin.blogspot.com/200...yg-blocks.html. Obviously, I have not tried it yet, but it looks pretty easy. It's high on my "To Do" list.Originally posted by Luv4appliqueHi,
I have machine quilted my squares and want to join them with some strips in between. Any good videos or books? Whats available on this website.
Thanks
Luv4applique
If you try it, please let me know what you think. Happy Quilting!

Thanks, Nancy, that looks like a great technique! I've been collecting different methods (haven't tried any yet, but soon!), but this looks like one of the best because it looks so sturdy! The lack of sturdiness (is that a word?) wouldn't be a problem so much for wall quilts, but I was worried about quilts that might get washed a lot. I also sent Dorothy a message when I first saw her BOM blocks, and she recommended a book by Carolyn Forster called Quilting-on-the-Go, which I now have and it looks good and easy to follow.I also just bought one of Sharon Pederson's books, but haven't worked with it yet. These are in no particular order because I haven't yet tried any of them. If anyone gets a chance, I'd love to hear what works and what doesn't!

Hi everyone bit of a surprise to see my self mentioned in the forum, welcome Luv4applique to the quilt show, I have learned so much since I became a member, most of the quilts on my profile are done quilt as you go, and I would recommend Carolyn Forsters book Quilting-on-the-Go available on Amazon. I also used the method Nancy suggested on my Frosty Nights, & Stash Busters in my profile. Most quilts can be quilted as you go, and I am sure the 2009 BOM could of been if I had put my mind to it, but I didn't so I am now in the process of hand quilting my 2009 BOM which it taking for ever.
