HELP I NEED HELP WITH BORDERS HELP

I need help with my borders.

I am making a quilt I had planned to miter my corners but I am short of fabric for the middle border. The border is made of a black and gold fabric ( this is the fabric I do not have enough of ) with two black stipes on each side... kinda like a floral border print.

I can put setting stones on the end at the corner where the border meets

    OR

I can just run the stripe around the center

    Or

I can put plain black square with applique floral ( same as the border fabric in the corner

Any ideas are greatly appreciated. I will try taking picture and posting a link so maybe by looking at the pictures someone can help me decide what would be good.

Here are the pictures... see the first four pictures and tell me which one you like the best..... PLEASE .... These borders and bblocks are not sewn just pin into place... I am trying to get and idea of what I should do, so I am testing different possiblities.

    I am so bummed.

PS I want to appolige for the typos but I can barely see what I am typing due to the small fonts on the board.

    Hi Anna,

Beautiful quilt! I like your block #1, the black with applique. Sometimes when we run out of fabric, it forces us to be a bit more creative

Let us know what you decide. Good Luck!

I like the first picture best too. Looks like you planned it that way. Very pretty.

I agree, I like number 1 best, with number 4 as my second choice.

Your monitor should have an icon down on the right hand side that says 100% with a plus sign inside of a magnifying glass. You can make the whole page larger.
              Hope this helps.

Looks like it will be a lovely Christmas quilt. I prefer #4...it seems more finished than #1, which I choose second.

I guess I am the odd ball in the crowd (so what else is new) but I like #3 to me it looks like it was planned from the beginning and not a solution to a problem. Ann

I vote 1 and 4. To me, they look planned, not forced! We sure are a varied group of people, aren't we? 8)

The final decision I THINK is

Red block that I am attaching then sending the quilt to the quilters... I will hand applique motifs when it gets back and also do gold thread emboidery.

I am never sure of my decisions until after they are quilted... and the binding is on... but I have been known to dicker with things even then.

I finished the quilt top... YEAH... I tried to get a good picture but the wind is blowing too hard... after the third time the quilt stand fell on my head I gave up. If it is pretty out tomorrow I will try again to get a picture otherwise it is off to the quilters as soon as I can get it there.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I end up using red corner stones because I once again was short of the black Kona fabric ( I had taken it from another project and I need to have enough to finish that project. ) I will hand applique the motifs when I come back from the quilters. I will also do some emboidery in gold metallic thread to give it a polished look.

It took 40 hours of real actual sewing and unsewing time to finish the quilt. I kept a log during the entire process.

Hopefully no one but me and the internet will know that I goofed.

                              Thanks for all the input
