    Sew in Piercing Paper?

Hello, I have been using freezer paper to do piercing. I traced the pattern onto freezer paper, cut freezer paper, iron freezer paper onto fabric, cut fabric with allowance. Is there anything that I can use like freezer paper but no need to take out? Any sew in piercing paper?

allison, I'm not quite sure I understand your question. are you using the freezer paper as a template to mark the stitching line for hand or machine sewing?
or, are you using it as a foundation for paper piecing?
I want to help you, but I want to make sure I have the right answere.

Allison, If you are meaning to use as foundation then Ricky Tims has that "Stable Stuff", which is a poly fiber type of stablizer paper that I beleive you can run through a printer. I never used it myself but I remember seeing it demonstrated. When you are done peicing you wash it and it just turns to a really soft layer within the quilt, almost like a very thin layer of batting and you can just leave it there. There are also water soluble paper peicing papers that just wash away too.

Thanks guys. I use freezer paper as my template for machine piercing. I found it easier for me to trace the pattern and cut the fabric using freezer paper. Only thing bothers me is that I have to tear it out when done. I a m afraid of using water soluble one as...I am not sure if my fabric will breed.

Yes, I use freezer paper for cutting fabric and as my guide for stitching line. I am looking for something that works the same as freezer paper but no need to tear away when done.

allison...check out episode 210...there is reference to a fusible stabilizer product called "floriano" that is demonstrated for machine applique..it might work for you..
I wonder, tho...have you had any lessons in rotary cutting? sewing w/ 1/4" seam allowance would eliminate the need for your stitching guide paper.
I would love to be your neighbor and help you get started.

I am working on a 20 block sampler quilt. I am following the book to make the exact size of quilt. The book is more like a pattern booklet. I traced the pattern and cut fabric with allowance. I just found it easy to cut fabric with freezer paper on fabric.
