    Scalloped binding for DWR quilt

HELP!!!!!!!!!! I'm making myself crazy over this. I want to do a bias binding on my DIL's DWR quilt. It's scalloped around the outside. How do I measure to see how much binding I'll need?

I've prepared one piece of fabric for this using Sharon Schamber's method. I got some pieces I can use, some that have the angles going like this \_______/ and some came out connected to each other!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AARRGGHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm ready to pull my hair out here.

Eileen, I believe Sharon Schamber also has a video showing how to do a scalloped/curved binding. See if this helps:

I just recieved my Quilters Newsletter mag and there a lesson on drafting scallops. Its the July/Aug issue on page 58-59. If you can't find the mag, I could send you the instructions via e-mail if you haven't already solved your problem.

        Let me know.. Cheryl

My friends and I made king sized double wedding ring quilts a couple of years ago. Guess who got to do all the bindings? I used the KISS method(keep it simple stupid). sew slowly, you can use a walking foot, I didn't, then when you get to the point, just stop, needle down, pivot going the new direction and you're on your way. As I get closer to the point, I'm kind of pulling to make the edge do what I want it to. I realize this is not the proper way to do it, but I tried the right way and this worked great for me.

            Shared update:
Eileen sent the quilt to me and I finished the binding. The color she chose works well with the quilt and really frames the quilt well!
