    Gloria Loughman Landscape Workshop

Finally able to finish the small quilt I started in Gloria Loughman's workshop in September. Lots of things I would do differently but I certainly learned a lot in the process--about composition, color, perspective, playing with silk lame' and tulle as well as using Razzle Dazzle to hand-embroider reeds in the foreground. Now I think I can approach the next piece with more clarity...  But I must admit I totally enjoyed the journey with this technique. Thank you, Gloria!!!

That looks terrific Renata. Lucky you taking a class like that. It was so worth it.

You may have learned a lot, but it sure does look like you know what you're doing already! It turned out beautiful!

Thank you Rita and Nancy. I really do feel lucky having taken her class--while I got nowhere close to finishing this piece in class, Gloria packed in so much good information that with my notes and her book, I still had lots of fun putting the pieces together at home, made lots of mistakes but recovered!

I love your little quilt and it's reminding me that I've been wanting to do some landscape quilts. Tomorrow's TQS show may push me further in that direction. Good to see you back. The Forum has been rather quiet for a while.

Looks great Renata! I'm not finishing mine, but I learned just as much I think. She is a fabulous teacher isn't she?

Also, I think this technique might lend itself well to using my acuquilt Go! if I get the right dies. I could get really accurate cuts on those background pieces. Don't you think? I'm thinking of doing a rainforest one with a dinasaur using her technique. Add it to my long list!
