Thanks Margo, I'll get onto it. I haven't had a chance to watch your video as yet I am really looking forward to it. I used your Faux piping on a quilt the other day and it worked beautifully

Just watched the video, going to cut up a pool noodle tomorrow! Thanks for the tip!

I'm going to try the Totally Stable iron-on stabilizer on the front of my fabrics with glue-turned edges and glue basting for this project. The shapes are pretty simple and you can get them easily placed with a light box. Anything to save a step--- ha!

The Elmer's would wash away so wouldn't give a permanent seal to the edge. Personally, I don't like stitching through Elmer's.

If you haven't seen it yet, there is a PDF tutorial in my classroom showing how I retrofit my Elmer's glue bottle so I can apply a very fine line of glue.

Good point Sue re the edges not being stabilized after washing.
Margo, the other day I found an Elmer's glue stick with a Dual Tip at Office Works, one end gives you a fine point the other end a little thicker. Seems to work well. I am finding using Elmer's is very fiddly and you have to place one piece at a time and iron. I notice in the instructions that you assemble and fuse all the pieces with one pressing. I think I will abandon the Elmer's idea while I'm ahead.

Margo -- I watched your most excellent video late last night. I'm not making this year's BOM, but I love watching your videos because I always learn something new and helpful. This month's video was really incredible. Thank you very much for all of your efforts in bringing this to us.

And, by the way, I so love your fabric choices for the BOM. I think it really helps open up our minds and eyes to see all of the different fabric combinations that each of us use and yours is especially enlightening.

Thanks JoJo! I luv seeing all the different color combinations on the TQS BOMs. It is just amazing how totally different the quilts can look depending on the fabric choices.

I just got this info from Josh at Superior Threads about the stabilizer used with the fusible thread in the video with Heather and Annie.

                        Margo,

The stabilizer that was used for the Charlotte's Fusible applique video was OESD Polymesh cut away stabilizer. Heather said you should be able to find it at any Bernina store. Call before you go. We also know it is sold online. It is a product we don't carry at the moment, but may in the future.

Margo, what scissors are you using? It looks like they are spring loaded & thumbs don't go in holes. My thumb is worn out cutting templates.

I have a gigantic roll of that. I got it and wondered why? An accident, maybe? At least I can use it now

Susan, mine are really old, but are similar to this pair of Fiskars:

                              http://www.officedepot.com/a/product...purpose-Micro/

I'm embarrassed to say how many different pairs of scissors I own, but I really like the spring loaded Fiskars, both these small ones as well as the larger ones:
