Thanks for the encouragement, Gail! It's early morning after a long night of NCAA basketball I finished my month 3 arcs except for ironing and trimming. I think I'm going to do some blocking as well. About 95% of my points are sharp, the rest, well, maybe I won't worry about dull knives.
I did study the picture of the completed quilt for a while. Yikes. I wish I had left the paper on month one sashing strips. That's a LOT of pinning to get those points sharp.
This will feel like a glorious accomplishment when it's finished.

Good for you Susan. Hope your team won in the basketball. My Australian Football team just won their first match for the season after losing miserably over the last few seasons, so I'm very happy for them.
I think my ratio of blunt points would be on a par with yours, but we can live with that
Looking forward to month 4 and seeing everyone's progress.Gail, Far North Queensland, Australia

At the beginning of these posts, Margo mentioned the Curve Master foot. Just saw a demo of this foot at the Cincinnati Quilt Show and remembered I purchased one several years ago. After some rummaging, I found mine. Has anyone tried this when sewing the arcs? If so, how did it go? I have all 36 arcs finished and am ready for the next step. I don't want to try it on the arcs and then have to rip it out.

Margo, thanks for getting back to me. I had reviewed the posts on this forum prior to my first post. However, I did not see where someone had used the Curve Master with success. However, the technique used for the drunkard path is very similar. Is that what you referred to? At last week's Quilt Show, I did purchase a spool of Charlotte's web fusible thread. Do you know if anyone has used this for Month 4? It would save a lot of time eliminating the shadow cutting in Sue & Holly's directions, but you would still have to cut the shapes, but just once. Your thoughts?

Yes, Janie. This post by Rita is what I was remembering, but it looks like she just used a 1/4" foot....not the curve master.

I starched both fabrics. I also tried sewing with the corner piece up and down but it was all those pins that drove me crazy. So I went back to Susan's link to sewing drunkards path without pinning. I practiced a few times until I was pretty sure I could do it and that's what I did for the rest. A few ended up not right so I just ripped them out and did them again. I think the trick with this method is to hold the corner piece LIGHTLY on top and away from the bottom piece, and to focus on the bottom fabric always going straight under the 1/4" foot. If you pull the top fabric at all it goes wrong. That's how I got them done so quickly. If anyone is going to try that method, please, please practice it first until you are sure you are getting it right.
