La Veta 2009 BOM Squad meet up

I was wondering if there is a set date for the La Veta 2009 BOM Squad meet up? I am really wanting to go and would love to be able to begin planning on that now. Are you interested too?

    #2
I am definitely interested. I have my niece coming over today to do some more tracing for July and Aug before she goes back to school.

Nothing official has been set up, but Sue Garman will be the featured guest in the Chat Room on August 28. Maybe we can talk it up then and if Lilo makes an appearance, we can ask her about it! When I mentioned the possibility to Lilo several months ago, I got the impression that she thought there wouldn't be very many people who would actually show up. She said that they wouldn't be able to say that one particular taping segment would be reserved for the BOM SQUAD. She said it would be first come-first served, so we need to see who is serious! I AM!!

I'm hoping to be there if this all comes about, but it will take some advanced planning for us since we live in No. California and would be traveling with our RV. An added bonus would be to visit our son and family in Colorado Springs.

I'd love to attend and meet everyone. It would definitely depend on the time of year. My area gets snowed in, closing roads and the closest airport.

I, too, would love to come. It will depend on when but for the most part I am quite flexiible.

I would love to come - more incentive to really finish this quilt  I told my dh that we were talking about a trip to LaVeta for the BOM and while he was a little skeptical (you want to go where???to show off a quilt???? lol) I think he would work with me on going, howeverI need to know a date as early as possible so that I can plan and start saving those pennies.

It is definately on MY list for 2009! Just waiting for a date! I've decided to forego a Ricky retreat in lieu of the BOM gathering! Maybe not smart..............hmmmmm.........unless I could do it all at once! Now that's a thought! Stay over or come early and do it ALL!

Lynn, when is the Retreat? Maybe the BOMers could see if a taping is around that time and everyone could get in their reservation for seats at the taping. It sounds as if TQS already has their shows planned way ahead of time and probably wouldn't include our quilts in a show. If the LaVeta thing doesn't work out, maybe chapters of BOMers could get together nearest the area where they live.

If it happens I am planning on going to BOM gathering.

I am definitely an "in" for LaVeta! And having a regional BOM squad meeting would be "way cool"! I know Ritzy and Bridget are each about 3 hours from me. We could find a place in the middle to cut travel time down. Anyone else on the forum in the Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana area?

Maggie in E. Central Illinois, gorgeous day, can't believe it is August. We have farmer's market this morning, and can't wait to go!

Maggie, I have made up a map with dots showing where everybody lives, and there are several near you! I will try to get a copy made to post so everyone can see how spread out the BOM SQUAD really is! (I know.....I have ENTIRELY too much time on my hands!)
