Hey! I might be LIVING in NC by then! My two daughters are there and we are giving it serious consideration.

We have 40+ years of friends in Houston, tho....it's hard to think about leaving people we've know for 40 years! That's alot of history.

But I know there are just bunches of NEW friends out there - just a hard decision.

Lynn, I'd love to share a bus ride with you. I'm 20 miles south of I-10 between Houston and San Antonio, so it would be easy for me to catch a ride just off of 10! I've also seen a couple of members from the Austin area and some from the SA area. Before long we will have a bus load from TX! Can't wait for all the fun!

Robin, I'm very behind on my BOM's, but very determined. I've cut the foundation out for all 5 months and have 2 stars on background fabric. So I have a good start...things just keep interupting my applique time! I have finished the graduation quilt top and it is at the LA, so that has freed up some time! Keep going and you will finish May and be ready for June!

All the blocks that have been posted are wonderful!

Just wanted to let everyone know that my May block is finished. I will take a picture this week and let you know when I post it.

Margarita in warm Auburn, CA ( It has been in the high 90's since Thursday, suppose to be cooling down in the next few days. :? :? . it is supposed to be Spring, not Summer.

My May block just went up in my profile. I thought it was fairly easy. While I'm waiting for June, I'm going to get started on the October berries...there are 47 of them!!!

            Nancy,
Beautiful block! I am still amazed at all the beautiful colors being used.

Thanks for the heads up on the October berries. Think I better get started on mine as well - that is a lot of berries.

And just how do you know, Ms. Nancy, that there are berries in October? Do you have an 'inside' track?

QuilterLynn, I've been trying to solve the mystery of which block is which. So I look at the fabric needed for each month, look at the photo of the whole quilt and do some deducing. I emailed Sue Garman and asked her if October is the one with all the berries, and are they 5/8" like the others. She emailed me back that yes they are the same size. I told her that since there are so many of them (47 by my count) that I'd like to start making them and putting them aside so that when October comes I'll have that much already done!! Sue suggested that I write the forum so that others might like to do the same.

Nancy- I love your color choices especially the teal berries. I thought I was being brave with pink - your way braver than I am but it's worth it - just lovely.

I am still working on the April block. We've decided to sell our house/ put it on the market within the next couple of weeks. I've been re-focused on making the house look more marketable. My quilting is on hold. I had to pack up and store all of my quilting supplies except my must haves. I hope to get back to my quiet time of applique real soon!

Nancy, love that fabric for your vase! And the teal berries are AWESOME! Thanks for the heads up on the October berries.

Thanks for all the kind words about my block. It spent the night in a container with Retayne, so there would be no bleeding since I realized that the vase fabric had not been pre washed!! It came out fine. I just bought two fat quarters of red to begin my October berries.

My May BOM is posted! Too bad my fabrics are in Arkansas, and I'm in California; the June BOM will have to wait until I return. (After baby arrives!) But I bought a red fat quarter to do the October circles!

Linda, I love your block. They are all so different. I wonder what Sue thinks of all the interpretations. She probably likes it. Almost everyone does something a bit different from Sue's block. Tonight I'm cutting out Stable Stuff templates for the October berries while I watch Dancing With the Stars. (Who will win??)

Thanks, Nancy. I love the variety in the blocks, too. And I am also working on the October berries, while watching Dancing With the Stars! (only I wonder if I'll be able to stay up long enough to see the results - we're on the west coast! - I think Christi has it made. She really outshines the competition, I think.
