My january bom
I just posted mine to my profile. A bit different. I'm doing fusible applique and got every stem backwards! Oh well. We'll say it's artistic license. Anxious to do next month now.

Where's the pattern police when you need them. Ha! Your block is beautiful, and you can't tell it's not just like it's supposed to be. I just finished a fusable block and put the arms on the wrong side, but I really can't tell it's wrong unless I look at the pattern. Oh well! I'm working on another Sue Garman pattern. My fabric kit isn't here yet so I'm keeping busy on other things.

Your block is beautiful. If quilts could tell their stories. Thank you for sharing yours.

THank you all so much for the encouragement! I think the quilt police are on vacation! Quilting has been my therapy through this nightmare. My dil was diagnosed at age 29 when 5 months pregnant. Had mastectomy and began chemo before delivery BJ 5 weeks early. Finished chemo 6 months later then was clear for a year then had a recurrance in November last year. She's on cycle 3 of chemo now and we're praying that she won't have to have radiation. BJ has been diagnosed with sensory integration disorder and mixed cerebral palsy. And he's the youngest - he has 3 older brothers - 5,6,10 - each with their own health challenges. I'm proud of my dil and admire her strength, but this recurrance set me back a bit so that's why I'm making this quilt for how my emotions have been this time. The first block is actually my angry at God block but I didn't stay angry for long. I'm anxious to start adding my first hint of color in the February block and by the end of the year, it'll be all color! What fun!

I sent you a private e mail but want to add here how brave you are and how brave your family is -- the Lord works in mysterious ways and we know not the reason or the result. Your working through your anger and grief has helped me today and I know will help others. So know that a circle of friends and companions on life's journey are here to boost you up when you need it and cry with you when that is all you can do.
May the Almighty being bless and sustain you and your family in these difficult days and knowthat there is a whole army of warriors who are their to help, support and love you. Ann

Oh, Cathy, My heart goes out to you in this time. I know how hard it is when you feel so helpless. But you are doing good, working it out through quilting. The block is beautiful and you will all come through this. God takes a lot of hits with a cancer diagnosis but he always seems to be there when we need someone to catch us. Have faith and have fun with the BOM. I'll be watching!
