I got Sharon's stabilizer and halo today!
On the surface, her stabilizer looks and feels a lot like Ricky's. I've ordered some from Jukebox too, and when it gets here, I'll experiment with the three of them.
I don't have a quilt ready for machine quilting right now, but took some scraps and tried out the halo, and think it's going to work GREAT! It's heavy enough to help move the fabric and it's covered with a kind of plastic that really grips the surface! So far, with minimal experimentation, I'd say it's a good buy!
PS....I've been having trouble with the link to her YouTube site about the halo today, but you may want to try to check it out:

Cute, Patti! I'm not any kind of a flower expert, but I'm not sure that lillies grow on stems with leaves like that. Don't they grow from bulbs and have leaves like tulips and daffodills?Originally posted by PattiSureThe technical term is "familiarusto appliquerus" :lol:Originally posted by MontanaGrammaI even did an internet search in January to see what lilies look like and was trying to decide if I should embroider those little things that stick out (whatever the technical term is)

All I know is that I'm loving the way Sue designed this whole quilt! Maybe they are Lillius Suegarmanus?
And the February Daisies should probably have lots of petals, but then they would be really hard to applique. Black-eyed Suegarmanus?
I think they are all just wonderful funky, fun flowers, and I'm glad that Sue made them possible.

Denise, I love the pieced background! You will definitely win the prize for best use of a stash!
The first time I took my stepdaughter to a quilt shop, she was amazed. She thought you just made quilts from scraps, old clothes, etc!
Maggie, so looking forward to spring here in E. Central Illinois!

Carla, like Pat said, it's NOT freezer paper, but a stabilizer. Its a polyester product that is stiff when it comes off the roll, but gets really soft when after it's been wet so it can be left in!Originally posted by StinkiSharon has an interesting technique, but watching it I wondered what happens to the freezer paper? I never saw it come out.

I'm in the process of making a comparison of stabilizers this morning and have got to tell you that both her stabilizer and Ricky's Stable Stuff are a DREAM to use this way! They are both white and also help to prevent shadow-through when appliqueing over darker fabrics.
I'm waiting until I receive another stabilizer from Jukebox Quilts to include in the comparison before I post photos, but I really like this technique!
I'm just hand appliqueing circles onto a background of black and white to see how the washed product looks. I'll post ASAP!
