    Quilt size

Is there anyone that is going to make this beautiful quilt as a wallhanging? I don't need mine to be bed sized but I'm not sure what month would be a good time to stop.
Any and all opinions would be great.

Eileen, that's one of the great things about this design! You can stop at any border and have a wonderful finished project! Or, you could add a wide final border and maybe some floaters to any part of it for some wonderful quilting space! Have fun!

thanks, Margo. At least I don't have to make the decision right now. I can do it at my own pace.

I just did some measuring and found out that I need to make my Ruffled Roses bigger than original design to make it drape nicely on my bed. It needs to be about 8 inches bigger on all sides. Could I just add so wide final border to my quilt and what it should be? Just plain fabric for some nice quilting? That would make it easy. I am a little bit puzzled, don't want to ruin beautiful design with something that don't fit with rest of the work. Could you help and make some suggestions? And is there some one else with same problem?

If you decide to add a solid border, be sure to audition several fabrics. Here is my Ruffled Roses with three different colors used around the outside, and I think that each one makes the center look different!

Thank You Margo for your answer! This helped me! Now I see that solid border is possible. And those pictures of your quilt with different borders really show how different quilt can look with different border. Border will sort of draw everything together. I will choose my fabric carefully! (As my English teacher said long time ago: Haste makes waste.) I will take time to audition different fabrics, when top is on that stage. Now I think solid border could be on darker range of colours on my quilt top.
