Oh, how funny! Me, too! I could just picture all of those slats (?) in the lattice, in all of the colors that I am using in my center block. I may have to tone down a couple of other areas though, or it could be REALLY colorful!!!Originally posted by PatchworkjillJanice I did this quilt for the Lattice ordeer also.....he he he

I'm so glad to hear how many of you are liking the lattice border! I had never done one like this before, but I love it, too, and plan to use it again.
Now that we know how to make our floaters work for us (from last year's BOM) we can use this sweet little border to fit whatever quilt we want to put it on!

I removed the paper as soon as I trimmed the blocks to the correct size, and assembled them just like any regular blocks. In fact, I didn't pay any extra attention to the diagonal piecing...just lined up corners and the raw edges, and I thought they went together really easily!

Nothing to fear here, JoJo! They just sew together like any plain ole 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" squares! Piece o cake!!
You can follow Sue's instructions to press the seams open, or follow mine to twirl the intersections, or just press them to one side. Whatever works for you!

Question:
Guess how long it took me to do 72, 2-1/2 blocks tonight?
Answer:
Two complete movies!
Hubby lent me his computer, and I listened to two movies that I know pretty much by heart. It was nice. I've never done that before and I think I enjoyed my time a little more, and I think I finally understand paper piecing a little more. I still had to redo 2 of my 72 because I had the center piece with the wrong side out, but overall it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
Tomorrow, I'm hoping to finish the remaining and sew them together to make the lattice. I thought I could finish all the blocks tonight but my eyes are tired (too much concentration I guess  )

I really like the lattice border too. It was easy and fun. I removed the paper as soon as the 2.5" blocks were trimmed. Most of the piecing went very easily, there were only a few I redid--mostly when 4 lattice came together--if they were off enough to be noticeable, I fixed them.
