I finally spent some time in the Show & Tell section. Wow, so many beautiful interpretations of this and so many lovely fabric combinations! I was going to comment on each one I liked, but I liked them all and I don't have that much time to spend on the computer.

Thank you to everyone that had kind words to me about my rotary cutter accident. In all of my years of sewing and cutting, I have never done anything like that before. Today, as I was going to do more cutting, I put my temporary handle on my ruler as I used it, thus keeping my fingers out of the way. I am quite sure from now on, that is what I will be doing as I just cannot believe the damage I did to myself.

I am really looking forward to tomorrow and next month's challenge!

Sharon, I love the center applique on black like that. It really pops! I can't wait to see what it looks like with the latice.

Thank you. I've always wanted to do a black quilt, so I thought I would give it a try. I didn't notice untill I took this picture the center is not centered. It was late at night when I did that part and I should have gone on to bed..... oh well, lesson learned.
For the slat border, I've used a stripe fabric. I really like the way it turned out. Now I'm gonna get the cutting finished, so I can do those little 2 1/2" blocks..... WOW it sure is alot of them!!!!!

Once again, I'm sliding in at the last minute, but February is done! I distorted the block a little in the process of adding the mitered stripe border, but hoping that the next border will camouflage all my guilty secrets. Bring on March!

I've been checking on this journey. It's giving me so many ideas, both color and design, for a couple of blocks I am working on. I happen to love medallion quilts so this is just great. Connie's yellow and blue really caught my eye as I am currently dealing with a yellow tulip block, turning it into a small wall hanging. There is ho way I can choose a favorite, however, as they are all lovely.

I'm finished now and put the photo in Show & Tell also.
I put the blue border for March on it and now have to work with the next borders

Norma, did you dye all your fabrics? If so, you did a great job! Your block looks wonderful.

Thanks for your nice words. Except for the white on white I did dye all the fabrics. In this quilt so far they are all solids but I do paint and print on my fabrics also. I have the feeling that this quilt will end up in solids only.

Sharon, Connie and Norma, your blocks are just wonderful. It is amazing how they are all so different, and yet the same basic pattern. It is all so inspiring.
