      Margo,

I will give this a try, as I have never posted a photo in the Forum. My applique is Miss Kelly by Erin Russeck (geoquilter). I fell in love with the pattern months ago, and thought the 2011 BOM would be a great showcase for it. I have had to reduce it down by 25% to fit the 15 1/2 x 15 1/2 center block size, and do some minor changes in order to place it on point. I tested the flower centers first to see if the smaller pattern size was doable for me. It was!!! This is going to be so much fun! Dawn

Way to go, Dawn! Love your colors, and Erin's appliqué pattern is wonderful! She also has some great applique tips on her web site!

Anyone else have fabric already? Changing the center medallion??? We want pictures!

I thought I really looked at the cheddar/green quilt in Houston, but I think I'm seeing something now, in your the Beloved Beauties that I had not noticed before! Is there a curved piping in each swag, between the two colors? And, is there one around the medallion in one of your quilts? Or, are we allowed to know these things ahead of time?

Yes, Dawn! I added the mini-piping to the appliqued swags in the Beloved Beauties version (and in the binding!) and also around the medallion for my scrappy version. Check out these photos that are posted on the BOM Show & Tell page:

            see-quilts/show-and-tell-quilts/
            see-quilts/show-and-tell-quilts/

You don't need to add the piping, or you may discover another place to try it. At any rate, I've written a tutorial showing how I did it that will be available next month!

Oh, Dawn, I'm in love with your fabrics!!! Wow! is that going to be a stunning quilt!! I love Erin's designs, too. They're soooo cheerful!
Margo, I hope to have enough of my fabrics to show after this weekend, but if the local quilt store doesn't have what I want, then I'll have to wait until we get to a bigger quilt store -- two hours away -- probably after Christmas.

Dawn...I am excited for you! Your 2011 BOM is going to look great. (I plan on using the same colors, and some of the same fabrics in my Hugs & Kisses that I will be starting in January. Great minds think alike?) It is fun to see how a quilter can take a such a incredible and perfect quilt and make it their own by changing this or that. We have a lot to look forward to next year when everyone starts posting photos of their quilts...as we sew along together.

makesgeese, I was going to start the Hugs & Kisses in January and ordered the kit because the TQS Shoppe had it for a really good price. Well, they shipped it to my home in MT instead of here. So I decided that I will just wait until I get there in April to get started on it. I have plenty of things here to do. I'll be looking forward to seeing yours done in those colors.

I've started pulling fabrics and this is what I have so far. My theme is old-tyme Christmas. Note -- if you click on the picture you can get a better look. I'm even using black which is rare for me.

P.S. It's hard finding Christmas fabrics that are more adult looking.

Jo Jo, your quilt is going to be awesome! Very rich colors! I can actually visualize this one! You could actually do a holly leaf heart medallion, and poinsettia flowers in place of the roses, to go along with the Christmas theme. A little more work, but a lot of fun!
