Down loaded the patterns and read your blog.... are you cutting the corner block white differently also as to give a straight edge on those pieces. I'd like to do that also
    thanks. Liz

Liz, I didn't but should have. Cutting pairs of white 4.5" x 3" and cutting them as I did for the first border unit puts straight of grain, or very close to it, on the outside edges. I will demo this tomorrow on the LIVE.

AND I have updated my blog with this information.

      Thanks for asking this question!

I've been unsure about cutting my fabrics for each month. For example this month we need a 3 1/2 " piece of some fabrics, a 3 inch of others and a 2 3/4 x 4 1/2 of another. Do I cut strips of fabric or should I just cut off the pieces I need from the edge? I don't want to run out of anything and I am following Becky's pattern and not making changes.

And I'm not sure how to correctly ask questions on the forum. The only prompt I could find said "post reply" and I didn't know if it should say "new topic"

You did ask the question correctly. Don't create a New Topic to ask a specific question for the month.
I am assuming you are using a Kit. If so, only cut what is needed for this month. Especially with the SOLID Kit. The PRINTS kit has lots of extra fabrics for variation.

Also, your name doesn't show on your profile. Contact [email protected] for help--they may need to add it from the inside. Give them your name and email address you use for The Quilt Show.

You can always include your name in your posts.

I believe I posted a question correctly because I can see it on my screen but I haven't gotten any responses yet. Does anyone have suggestions for cutting the fabric each month? Do you cut strips or just cut off the required amount?

I've got the afternoon to work and I cannot find the size to cut the center before the sashing strips go on. I've got 32.5" is this correct? Never mind I figured it out.

When this border pattern is repeated in the last border will the blocks be the same size, 3.5”x3.5”, just additional colors and blocks?

Yes. The outer border that is done in Month 12 is the same size/shape as Month 4. Somewhere Becky recommends not working ahead but I can't seem to find that now. Maybe it's because you wouldn't have anything to do later?!
If working with a Kit you might want to wait if you can't figure out the specific fabrics. If using your own fabrics, you have all the info you need to get started on those last long 3" borders.

I have a question about block 3. For the brown center piece, the seams are very bulky. Which way do I press the brown seam allowances.

Watch Becky’s video—she discusses how she pressed them in different directions to get the flatest center possible.

I'm running a bit behind, and I can already tell that I'm going to be having an issue once I finish up month 3 and move to months 4 & 5. My printer does not print at 100% when I tell it to. I had to increase it to 103%. What I really needed was 102 1/2 % but I can't get that - it has to be even numbers. 102% was visibly less than 1 inch in the test box and I really thought that 103% was right on the money. When I went back and re-measured the box, it turns out that I'm just over the 1 inch by maybe a hair over 1/32 of an inch. When I got my pieces put together around that center square, I am an inch too large. I thought about just making the final border whatever length was necessary to get the correct size. Then I realized that all the foundation papers coming next will not fit as they are all printed at the 103%. I am wondering about the month 5 that is not foundation pieced. Is it going to be best if I make my own foundations matching what printed out for month 4 for the squares then fill it in myself with the square within the square? Should I make the border as written then add extra pieces on each end to come out to the length that I will need?

I just stopped all together while I'm working on figuring out what to do next. Help!

          Possible solutions:
          1. Be sure you are printing from a DOWNLOADED FILE not the View file. It should print at 100% perfectly.
          2. Print from a computer not a phone.
          3. Ask a friend to let you download the page or two you need, just the Paper Piecing patterns, to her computer then delete it from her computer. Print on the paper you intend to sew on.
          4. Use a ruler, pencil, and paper to DRAW the pattern. They are simple and you know what size each one is.
