    Quilt Size

Is anyone making a smaller version of this quilt? If so, how much are you downsizing?

I am making mine 65%. I know Lynneanne is doing 50% and one of the Barbara's, not Barbara Black, is doing theirs 75%.

I just printed my patterns for month 1 and 2 at 65%. I changed out month 3 with English paper piecing motifs. and i adjusted
the outside border on month 3 so my size is 24 1/2 inches for the center that should be 36 1/2 for the original pattern.
Since I am working with 24 inch sides at this point, I am making my first round of borders 2 inches wide, my middle border
4 inches wide and the outside border 2 inches wide. I will make the sashing strips a width that will work with my math.
I have posted photos in the Share your progress threads. HelenW

I am printing the pattern at 50% and doing the freezer paper technique with 1/8 inch seams. It works but maybe I should have made 1/4 seams instead because they are pretty tiny.

        I would use 1/4" seams.

Lynnanne, If you have a couple seams that are very tiny, you can cut a piece of Pellon 906 featherweight fusible interfacing 1/4 or 3/8 inch wide and fuse it directly over the seam. It is like
enclosing the seam so it can't be pulled apart if it is stretched. I have done it a number of times
        and it works great. HelenW

Thanks Helen, I will need to do that. I have to find some lightweight Interfacing, but it will for sure help. From now on, 1/4 seams. Lynn
