My top is finished. I did a different border. I will be machine and hand quilting. I found a fabulous Tula Pink backing that will be perfect.

I chose a dark background, using up all my navy fabric scraps. I finished it just in time to display it at my guild's show last weekend. I modified the layout slightly to create a curved effect in the center. Some of the appliqué is from Jen’s pattern, and I also incorporated elements from Irene Blanck’s Garden Party Down Under.

Grand Champion at Local Fair. 3rd time in a row, all Quilt show BOM’s. The Judge and viewers were just in awe about the quilt. They even read my label that described the BOM. Impressed as it is hand pieced, quilted and embroidered all within a year.
I did expand from originally and put in some of Becky Goldsmith’s blocks to make it larger.

Finally finished, quilted and bound and on our guest room bed! It sat for over a year waiting for me to quilt it, but it never happened… too many projects. Now beautifully quilted by Terry Owens here in Huntsville, Al.

I absolutely loved making this quilt. I was at first frightened by the prospect of doing the embroidery and handwork, but in the end I totally embraced it. It is a quilt that can be passed down to the next generation.
