Happy month 2 is completed in time. I haven't worked with hand applique very much so hoping to get better as we go! Fabrics are pulled mostly from my Tula Pink stash and have some Kaffe Fasset to use too.

Here is all my progress so far. I have completed Month 2. I really like how well Sarah divided the work across the months. I used fusible bias tape for the stems which was a great time saver. I used Karen Kay Buckley’s perfect circles for the small circles and Sarah’s foil method for the large circles. Everything is machine appliquéd. I am very happy with the results. Looking forward to month 3. If I have time I may work on the other circles in the meanwhile.
I looked at all the photos posted so far. They are all great. The colors are beautiful.

It's great to see everyone's work. Here's my progress so far. I love using up scraps for he flowers. I'm using the Sue Nickels raw edge appliqué technique.

This probably takes care of me until April instructions are published. I added the little tear-drop shaped leaves, as I had the pattern for them from another of Sarah's designs I've stitched ("Coming Home"). I wish I knew how to prevent my photos transferring sideways to this site, but you get the idea of my progress anyway. I cut my hollyhock blocks a little larger and have yet to trim them back to the correct size.

Marilyn,Your blocks are very pretty. I too got the itch to stitch and went ahead of the pattern. I also made my background larger. Did you mark your outside stitching line so you don't forget and end up with the outside edge of your
holly hocks in the seam allowance. I did my coneflowers and ended up with having my background
being larger than it should be, so now I will need to redraw the flying geese border to be a little smaller.
It does not bother me because I like the challenge to see if I can do it without the pattern. I will
redraw my flying geese in EQ8. I thought the cone flowers were going to be in March. Not sure where I got that idea.

Helen W.....Thank you for your comments. I took into account seam allowances etc., so my hollyhocks are well within required dimensions....looking forward to seeing your coneflowers!

My progress. I have never handsewn, and I have enjoyed hand applique.
I made the steams with my machine, and I have hand applique the circles. I likednthe Karen
Buckley perfect circle method the best.

Ohhh Sandie, I'm really impressed that this is your first hand-sewn project. It looks great! When I started quilting 30 years ago, it seems like lots of people were doing hand work, then machine quilting became more the vague and I did a lot more of that. I'm so glad to get back to the quietness of stitching. I love your colors. Your star is the same color as my background!

Thank you NinaMarie! Using that dark eggplant color for a background will be so beautiful! I am lucky to live within an hour from Huntsville, Al and have been able to take in person classes with Barbra Black. I also love all the instruction we receive from this Quilt Show.

Oh, my goodness! Your fabrics are so very fun….and the polka dots…perfect! And your fussy cutting is delightful as well.

Finished the zillions of circles for block 2 a few days ago. There are more circles to add to these? Yikes! In all seriously, this has been FUN! I used Applipops to make my circles. I just love how there are several methods we can use. Background is Tula Pink Fairy Dust in the light gray background, and scraps of color for the circles.

Did you hear me say, "Wow! Ain't that cool?!" all the way in Oregon. Love, love, love the color choices and the background. This falls under the category, "Fabrics I wished I had chosen" Can't wait to see where this goes!

Completed month two and part of month 3. Not sure if I like turn edged appliqué but I’m sure it will get easier with more practice

Needle turned applique is an acquired skill for sure! This is looking great!

Last month at this time, I was one circle short. And in my excitement put it together only to be horribly embarrassed I had cut the blocks 1/2 in short. Here we have take two and ready for month 3. I am not ever able to keep up, but I don't give up and do it as I can. My picture sucks, but I love it.
