Month 4 is done! Machine stitching everything down with monofilament thread and a really small zig zag stitch!

I'm using stash, notions, and tools from my sewingroom for my interpretation of the blocks. I machine appliqued hollyhock blossom shapes for the circles using my Rose of Sharon Accuquilt die to cut the shapes. For the bias strips I used my Simplicity Bias Tape Machine with a 3/8" tip. The picture was taken before I pressed it and there are still a few threads to pull to the back.

Last month at this time, I was one circle short. And in my excitement put it together only to be horribly embarrassed I had cut the blocks 1/2 in short. Here we have take two and ready for month 3. I am not ever able to keep up, but I don't give up and do it as I can. My picture sucks, but I love it.

Thank you NinaMarie! Using that dark eggplant color for a background will be so beautiful! I am lucky to live within an hour from Huntsville, Al and have been able to take in person classes with Barbra Black. I also love all the instruction we receive from this Quilt Show.

Wonderful color choice to make the quilt feel very much your own! I look forward to seeing all your months!

Did you hear me say, "Wow! Ain't that cool?!" all the way in Oregon. Love, love, love the color choices and the background. This falls under the category, "Fabrics I wished I had chosen" Can't wait to see where this goes!

Ohhh Sandie, I'm really impressed that this is your first hand-sewn project. It looks great! When I started quilting 30 years ago, it seems like lots of people were doing hand work, then machine quilting became more the vague and I did a lot more of that. I'm so glad to get back to the quietness of stitching. I love your colors. Your star is the same color as my background!

Completed month two and part of month 3. Not sure if I like turn edged appliqué but I’m sure it will get easier with more practice

Here’s mine so far. I’m pleased, I’ve never appliquéd before. A fun challenge.

Finished the zillions of circles for block 2 a few days ago. There are more circles to add to these? Yikes! In all seriously, this has been FUN! I used Applipops to make my circles. I just love how there are several methods we can use. Background is Tula Pink Fairy Dust in the light gray background, and scraps of color for the circles.

Oh, my goodness! Your fabrics are so very fun….and the polka dots…perfect! And your fussy cutting is delightful as well.
