Barbara,
This is a little confusing and I have figured it out but the pattern instructions say:
"Light fabric: 16 @ 3 ½" squares
Colored fabrics: 16 different colored fabrics @ 2 ¼" squares"
In your video you say we need 16 dark colored 2 1/4" squares and 16 light colored 2 1/4" squares for a total of 32.
Janice, to make 8 four patches you need 32 squares. I suspect Irene meant to have an additional line that says cut 16 Light squares, 2 1/4”.
The video instructions are correct. The instructions have been updated.

Barbara, I am getting ready to make the Dresden plates. Is there a reason we are not using the Print n Fuse paper and the method we used for our applique leaves and flowers? If I use the cardboard templates and even using a tiny amount of glue I do not see how I can remove them without a lot of pulling.
Well I pieced very nicely the 2.25" squares and added the corners to set on point but this is not going to trim to 4.5" nicely, 5" yes. I guess I just created some orphan blocks. I just looked at the pattern again and it says 2.25 still. Am I missing something?
The video and Month 3 blog show the instructions. Four 2.25" squares are sewn into a 4-patch, then it is trimmed to 3.25". The background HST cut from 3.5" squares are added to the 4-patch and then that unit is trimmed to exactly 4.5". All of the pieces are oversize so you can cut precisely to the correct size.

Irene does not use Print N Piece Fuse Lite, she only uses the Paper Pieces templates. If you prefer to cut those tiny petals from PNPFL, you can, then it will wash out.
To remove the paper templates from the petals, first use a very LIGHT touch with the glue. Then follow Irene's instructions to use starch or Best Press to wet the petals a bit then gently remove the papers.Barbara Black
Has anyone had the paper pieced second border be to short, even though the 1" scale is correct when paper printed? I had no problem with the first paper pieced border size.
When you tape the pages together for a paper pieced pattern be sure the complete pattern is the correct size. The other Dogtooth border needs to be 33" finished, so 33.5" including seam allowances.Barbara Black

[;n892713]The applique block is trimmed to 12.5 x 13.5 but the pieced block says to trim to 12" sq. Doesn't make sense to me. What should the finished size of the blocks joined together be?
The pieced block is 12” FINISHED. It is 12.5”,including seam allowances. When sewn together, the unit is 25.5” W x 12.5” H.Barbara Black
Hi, I am behind with the quilt, I picked it up again and am printing the pattern for block 3, do I have to change the size before printing or just print it as I see it on the screen. thank you Caroline
Print Actual Size then check when you tape the four pages together to form the complete pattern that it measures 13” W x 12” H plus seam allowances.Barbara Black
