My months one and two are stitched and pressed. I’m doing turned edge hand appliqué. Those 1/8” in stems have been conquered
Thanks Susanne for showing your quilt. I really like your borders

I ran into a bit of a problem with my interpretation of mirror image. Thus my vines ended in opposite angles. I already had one appliqué border done and half of the second so no turning back in my mind. So, fast forward I finished my borders this way. Not unhappy at all about the end results. In the future I will make sure to read all the directions first. Still a happy results.

Good solution. Fortunately, no more of these kinds of "challenges" going forward.

I bought a container of yoyos from an estate auction and am putting them to good use. I'm new at applique and learning alot.

Glad to finish Month 2 today. I really like the fabric for the vine, adding diagonal lines and chevrons in different directions with little bit of colors...

So I'm still in... End of February, I am further behind, but thrilled with the results so far. The best news is that as you can see in the photo my colorwheel is complete. I have "finalized" my pallet... the shopping can end. .... but will it?

None of my words posted with the photo! I am behind, but catching up. I am using my Asian fabric collection, including indigos brought back from Japan and Thailand by my military husband, and kimono remnants I picked up at quilt shows.

Added: For the upper leftmost flower, I used a ruched flower that my late best friend made many years ago and I found in her sewing room when her husband asked my help clearing it out. It makes me happy to see it there every time I look at it.

I am happy with the way this quilt is looking. Good thing, since it is taking a lot of time! I am learning and getting better with the techniques. Thank you, Barbara for all the videos and helpful hints!
