Love your houses. Friends asked me today if prints might work and you prove that they do.

Another great set of houses with prints. And I love that you say it gets easier, it does.

DebDav, it looks like you removed the pattern. How are you going to add the background in the correct size?

I plan to use the same pattern and the template for the background to complete each one. If it doesn't work, then these are my practice houses.

I’m hand piecing this quilt so warning - my progress will be slow. Here’s my first house 1. Using scraps wherever possible. The background is from Tula Pink’s “Linework” collection.

This first house was so much fun to piece!

Today I tried the Edgestitch foot, #10 on Bernina. That is pretty cool. You keep your eye on the guide in front, the needle goes right beside the paper. Single hole throat plate, no need to move the needle position from center.

Of course, I learn this tip after my entire quilt is done. If you have an Edgestitch foot, and most machines have one available, give it a try to see if you like it.

Thanks for the tip-- I think it came from Marti.

UPDATE--it was Cindy who suggested the foot she called the Stitch in the Ditch foot. Officially called Edgestitch foot, and is often used for topstitching where you would move the needle position a couple clicks.
