Completed my 8 small houses #1. Now onto the small houses #2

Helen, don't worry, they’re going to be fine! I basted them together and made a tiny adjustment in a couple of the seams just to make sure it will be possible to make it a quarter circle. They’re not pressed because I want to take it apart and put it together again when all the houses are done. Thanks again!

Here’s my houses for month 1, love how it’s turning out. I ended up doing normal fpp and my tip for keeping fabric in alignment while sewing is to use a little dab of fabric glue on the seams. So much quicker than trying to hold and see or use pins to avoid shifting.

Are using the #10 foot for the freezer paper piecing?

Katiewells, yes, scroll down in this topic for photos.

I made 3 houses today using the #10 Edgestitch foot and what a treat! Wish I had thought to try that last May when I was making the sample/test quilt. Fast and accurate, really a great help.

Ames, your houses look great. Love the fabric choices.

Barbara, somewhere I viewed a video with you suggesting that a new PDF will be coming out for the background fabric. It was going to minimize the loss of fabric waste. I cannot fine this anywhere. Could you please attach the pdf in this forum.

                    Thanks

It was updated a couple hours after the LIVE broadcast on January 1. It is in the Month 1 downloads section. The update simply increased the size of the rectangle for piece j for Small House 2.

I re-did the video too, it is under Instructional Videos for Month 1 also.

Lynnanne, Your neighborhood is perfect. So glad yours came out at 90 degrees with 8 wedges. Thank you so much for taking the time to baste them together.
I guess, my issue, like many others, is my printer is not coming up with the correct size, even though I set it a 100% and the 1 " square measured
correctly. I read most all the posts on the forum, so I have tried a lot of common, fixes like Barbara's 102% that worked for some people. I am a determined person, so I will make this
beautiful pattern one way or another. I have cut more paper houses from samples than I like to think about. I don't plan to make my houses until I get the Month 2 Mariners Compass block templates, so I will continue to play around with this. I am still thinking about appliqué rather than pieced houses. I would be easy to make adjustments for that.
Your houses look great. Can't wait to see you quilt progress. HelenW

Sorry, I meant Bernina foot #5. Others mentioned using #10 but my #5 looks similar. I hit “quick reply “ thinking that was the way to connect to earlier post.

Thank you. Sorry to hear your machine isn’t behaving itself, so annoying! The only reason that mine are done is my machine is on the dining table and I’ve got a toddler and baby so have to get it done and packed away again before the toddler gets into it!! :cheer:
