cutting length of grain

Is there a video or show about cutting 21/2 yards of fabric on the length of grain? Can someone tell me how to go about this? Because the pattern calls for 2 cuts the same size, am I to keep the fabric with the bolt fold, and cut from the salvage sides?

Carmemg, Yes there is a video on cutting a long border on the length of grain. If you type in "Cutting Long Borders" you tube, you will get several. A good one is this one
