I think maybe the wording is a little confusing on Block 5 applique. It look like the picture shows two colored fabrics being used to
make the main applique. You sew them together and line them up horizontal and vertical lay the applique pattern on that and then
cut the applique out from the sections you just pieced. Hope that makes sense. I did not know that the month 2 was up already.

Sburr, the graphic Sue used to show the process is not the exact same as the block 5 appliqué, but the process is identical. Helen answered you correctly with the process.
Congratulations, you are one of the very few who read the pattern! I missed that graphic because I just jumped in and made the block my way.

Helen, yes, after I check the instructions we usually try to get the next month up so it is not late. My blog will post January 31 so those who jump in now may miss some helpful info. It’s a good time to select fabrics and print appliqué patterns if using one of the fusible papers. Enjoy!
