Thanks Barbara for your helpful posts to this forum and, also, for your blogs. I did the 2017 BOM "Halo Medallion" and, because I had to start late, there many times I had to search through your blogs to find references for what I wanted to review.

Well, I am going to be more efficient for this BOM!
When I receive one of your blog emails, I am going to save it. I know you keep a reference to your blog posts on your website, but I think seeing the email will make my brain connect faster (pictures help...lol). I love that you include links too.

I will be using batik fabric that I purchased just for this beauty. I will receive the vellum tomorrow. I am a bit worried about how it will work in my printers. I have an ink jet and a laser. I would prefer to use the laser printer but have had problems with size changes when printing supplied PDF files. I love paper piecing, though not all methods of PP, so Becky's methods will be new for me. After watching her videos, I am sure I will like it. Maybe too much? I have never seen a PP pattern that has the "dots" and "dashes" that she uses. :-)
    Happy New Year!

Read Barbara's blog about pre-washing the fabric and decided to prewash also. Got these fabrics serged, sorted for washing and indexed last night! I just printed off everything that became available today and cut out the paper piecing templates. Watched all the videos this morning. Now I'm waiting for the dryer to finish and I'll start sewing!

I find forums a bit hard to navigate, it is possible to have a facebook group for the sizzle bom? Photos are easier to see on FB.
Attached a photo of my indexed fabrics. For some reason it didn't upload to my last comment....

I agree it would be great and I looked today to see if there was one from previous years and didn't find one.

            Your fabrics look great.

We keep everything about this quilt here on the Forum so everyone around the world can see them. Once you get the hang of how to add photos, it's not hard.

I also check the Forum daily looking for questions I can answer to help people. Not everyone is on Facebook so it is best to make this our "go to" place. Welcome!

I've almost finished putting my warm palette together. I am just struggling a little with the fabric for the background, called Iris in the handout. Because my color are pretty identical to the warm kit, I wanted something pretty saturated for that section. I looked online to find some Andover Iris, but was not successful. I take from the photos that it's a pretty true black? And not dark navy blue?

Laurie, here are the solid fabrics used in the kits, Kaleidoscope by Andover:

                https://www.andoverfabrics.com/Grid.php?groupId=26284&GroupName=Kaleidoscope

Iris is a deep dark blue, not black, I believe--someone with the Warm kit, please confirm.

I am using a deep purple for my combo collection, some warm, some cool. I posted a photo of my Block 1 elsewhere in the Sizzlle Forum.

Wow I thought I was organized. I'm starting my folder and going to start picking fabrics. I'm think I'm going towards the cool palette but I'm gonna add a few pops of color - maybe purples...

Yes the Iris is a deep blue.

do you have a photo of your fabric choices? I like some of the colors in the warm way and some of the cool way. Just struggling with how to combine the 2 to look good. I am using my own fabrics most of my fabrics are batiks or southwest in nature. Any suggestions would help

Milababy, here is a blog I wrote on fabric selection. Towards the end I show my warm/cool combo.

                          https://bbquiltmaker.blogspot.com/2018/12/sizzle-fabric-selection-and-preparation.html

Now is a great time for folks to share their fabric selection if not using a Kit. Inquiring minds want to know.

I call my colors "Fizzle" because the last thing they do is sizzle! I have told myself that I may swap out the almost black fabrics for something that reads purple-ish-blue. I have to find the replacement first. The white and grays at the top of the photo are the background and I am really pleased I found these. They are Robert Kaufman Quilter's Linen 9864

Fizzle--that's funny! I think they are beautiful as a group. I would add one more kind of bright color, maybe a soft lime--that's just me. Your backgrounds are lovely.
