    Border appliques

Is it possible to purchase the border appliques only without the fusible? I prefer to needle turn applique.

Nice thought. I prefer needleturn, too. And that is why I decided to use my own fabric selection.

Yes, you can buy the snippets. They are laser cut but include a 1/4” seam allowance.

This is a very good question.

I will see if I can find out if the Snippets will be available for the Patchwork Barn. Edyta said several times in Show 2201 that Silhouettes are only available through The Quilt Show for The Patchwork Barn. Silhouettes have fusible on the back and do not include seam allowance. Snippets do not have fusible on the back and do include seam allowance. I am not sure they will be making Snippets for this quilt. As soon as I get the definitive answer, I'll post back here.

I have plenty of Blue Sky fabric left over from another Laundry Basket project, so I don't need to buy the whole kit, but I want to purchase the laser-cut applique shapes.
I emailed TQS asking if I could purchase them separately, but did not get a reply, so I checked the Laundry Basked website.

Laundry Basket now has both Snippets and Silouettes for sale for the Blue Barn on their website, in the "New" section.
The Silouettes are the laser-cut shapes with fusible on the backs.
The Snippets are laser cut applique shapes with the 1/4 " seam allowance added, which would be nice for needle-turn applique.

I am leaning toward doing mine needle-turn. It is good to have choices.
          Happy quilting, everyone!

Thanks for the info. I have another question for you where did you find the Blue Sky fabric? I’ve looked for it on lots of websites but can’t seem to find it. I would really like 1/2 yd or a large fat quarter bundle.

Judy Austin came up with the answer--Snippets for the Patchwork Barn are available for sale on the Laundry Basket quilts website.
              https://store4349022.ecwid.com/#!/Snippet-Patchwork-Barn/p/98757693/category=8807317&forcescroll=true

Remember you need 3 packages for the Patchwork Barn quilt. And remember the difference:

Silhouettes are pre-cut, pre-fused appliqué shapes without seam allowances.
Snippets are pre-cut, NOT pre-fused and include seam allowances--perfect for needle turn hand appliqué.

Thank you, Judy, for tracking this down--I did not look under "New" when searching for these.

                Glacerda,
I bought my Blue Sky fabric at least 6 months ago at a local quilt shop when it first came out.
I don't know if they have much left now, but I will email you privately.

Will just the pattern for the borders be included with the monthly instructions? I want to use my own fabric

Nanapat67, the first 8 months are the pieced blocks, months 9-11 include the center barn block and all the applique' designs. I hope this answers your question.

I received my kit - included are the Sillouettes appliqué packets, NOT the Snippets. There wasn’t a way to request which you prefer, and I’d not seen the show where Edyta told that you could get them either way. I was hoping to do needleturn on the appliqué so feel a little disappointed. Will search out the best way to achieve a fine finish with the raw edge.

cahanne, Edyta did not say there was a choice--she never mentioned Snippets.. The Kit includes only Silhouettes and that is what the Kit contents clearly list. Someone asked on the Forum if Snippets are available and someone else posted you could find them on Laundrybasketquilts.com, in Edyta's online store, under "New" products.

I hope this clarifies what you received with your kit.

                              Cahanne,
Maybe you could contact Laundry Basket Quilts and ask if you could exchange your Silhouettes for Snippets. They are the same price.
                              Just a suggestion.
