Mine came out the same size as yours and my printer settings were correct. I am an experienced paper piecer, too. Finagling the seams between the sections could work, I guess, but you have to match up all the points between the sections first and foremost so there is not a lot of wiggle room. I am not stressing about it. I can oversize the setting triangles some or adjust the small borders to get the correct size in future months. I made the 2009 BOM and had similar adjustments. In the end it came out fine.

Peg (Pegjo) and Wendy (gigiWendy) - i love your blocks and looking at your colour choices, I realized I was really missing the effect of the halos (I see two!). You both have nailed it so well, that now I am going to start over and do a different set. I was so concentrating on the getting the stitching right, I didn't notice that my colours were too similar in value. So nice to be able to learn from each other as we go. I am new to quilting - having taken it up in the last year since retiring. Thanks!

If you have used the 1" square to check the size of the printing on your printer, your printed paper piecing templates should be correct. If your finished block is not the right size, then there was another problem... usually the seam allowances are too small or too large.Originally posted by "williamskay" post=139370So how do you know that your paper piecing templates are incorrect before you actually make the block if you have used the 1 inch gauge to check for size?

No, as I stated in a previous post, my 1 inch square printed out correctly, but in order to make the block come out the correct size, I had to print it at 101%.

I have been reading online that those with Windows 10 are having difficulty getting patterns to print actual size. This is due to Windows 10 having its own pdf application. According to what I have read, if you download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC from the Adobe site and set this as your default pdf reader, open the pattern you have saved on your computer in Acrobat Reader (don't print direct from the web browser) and set to 'Actual size', this should print perfectly. I have Windows 7, and save pattern files to my computer before printing them in Adobe Acrobat Reader. My center block has turned out a perfect 16.5 inches. Hope this is helpful.
