Welcome to the Rajah Quilt Revisited!

It's almost time to start your TQS BOM 2106 - Rajah Quilt Revisited! Are you getting ready?

    #2
I'm considering doing this one, I missed the Lynette Anderson quilt as I was too busy quilting A - Z. Must try harder to keep up.
    best wishes Pam

I am looking forward to this one. I saw the original quilt at the museum here in Brisbane a couple of years ago. Doing this quilt will mean so much. Rosemary

I am also excited to start this one, but have to say I will be doing it in my own colour choice of blue yellow and white.

I also saw the original, although at the V&A in my case, and really love the old British medallion designs. Will probably be working from stash for the most part though - what else is a stash for, if not to cut up and sew.

Yep, I'm on board! Am using the fabric kit; it's all washed and ready. I am looking forward to learning more about its creation and to thinking about the women who made it under such terrible circumstances.

The older I get, the more connected I feel to the generations of women before me who made homes for their families, including their amazing quilts.

I'm in! And I'm going to seriously try to keep up. With any luck 2016 won't be as turbulent as 2015 was and I will get to spend more time sewing!

Charae, now you're really making me THINK! Would be so nice to keep up with everyone, but I've had to decline some other projects, but I sure do like this one. It doesn't look like it has as much applique as 2015's had. I like applique, but it takes TIME.
Might try to use my stash.

Terrie, My very long sewing to do list has been ignored for so long, but I really like this pattern/concept, too. Lottie's lizard and Sue's mug rug will get there, I promise, but I just couldn't resist this BOM. I reluctantly abstained from the Row Robin although I sure wanted to throw my hat in. Anyway, my one and only resolution for 2016 is to spend at least a few hours a week sewing, so I'm going to give it a go.

OK, so I noticed a couple of folks mentioned washing their fabric. I was not going to do that but would be interested in who is.

I had the opportunity to see the TQS version at the Ricky Super Seminar in Salt Lake City. Alex told me the story behind the quilt and I was so intrigued -- I was not familiar with The Rajah Quilt. I think a reproduction of a historic quilt is an interesting topic for a BOM. A medallion quilt has so many way to personalize it with fabric choices and customizing the center block. Looking forward to the new year!
