    backing for 2014 BOM quilt

I do not see yardage requirements for the backing. Not sure if I missed it somewhere. Also, just curious what others are using!

    #2
Look at page two of the yardage requirements download, bottom right hand side just below #31, it says "2001-01 Backing 5 1/2 yards. It's hard to notice but it's there.

Don't know what I'm using yet because I'm using my own fabrics and making it half-size. I'll probably want to make it a similar color to whatever the binding will be.

I pieced mine out of red and green fabrics because I did a Christmas version and didn't have any one big enough.

Ooops, I misread your entry, Casciamom... I gave you the details for the 2015 BOM... I just went back through the instructions for the 2014 and there is no mention of backing (I even did a word-search through the documents to see if it were hidden somewhere...). I haven't finished my BOM 2014 yet so I could not tell you how much backing you'll need, perhaps someone else knows how to calculate it faster than I could...

I used 5 yards, cut in half lengthwise and seamed down the middle. I used the same multi color polka dot fabric that is used in the border.

I add my congratulations to the others on your win at Road to California, Janet, and want you to know, that I, too, very much enjoyed the journey of BOM 2014 A to Z! Still have to do the border but look forward to enjoying this quilt very much (I adapted it to a Christmas theme) and it will definitely have a special place in our home at holiday time!
