Here we GOOOOO!! 2014 BOM!!
Okay, quilters, we have our very own spot on the forum now! I'm so excited! There are a couple new additions to the introduction packet that got posted late, so be sure and check them out under the BOM heading. It's a list of the top ten tidbits of information for making A to Z for Ewe and Me, AND, how this BOM madness all started! I'll be looking forward to all the show-n-tell pictures, so be sure an post lots of pictures! If you have any questions at all about the BOM, I'll be checking in regularly between my day job and working on my next quilt. Happy quiltmaking everyone!Back to Quilting!

Janet, it's so much fun that you are so active here on the forum. I'm looking forward to the next show with you, getting to know you better. I have started the BOM and will do it with my own fabrics. Maybe the blocks end up in a full quilt, maybe they will be used in smaller projects. We'll see where it is going.
You have made excellent instructions and the combination with Julie's videos must make everyone happy

Well, maybe by the time I finish up my 2013 borders, I'll have the fabrics washed. Wow, what a lesson. I was going to start this morning trying out a Flying Geese Ruler I've had for ages (No Math Ruler by Lazy Girl Designs), but just decided to wash the red and blue out of my stash. Well, the red had been washed before and still bled a little. The blue looks like I could dye another whole batch of fabric from the leftover dye. It's now sitting in the last teaspoon of Retayne that I have on hand. How many soakings will it take I wonder? I could probably start a lottery on the numbers!

I have a question concerning the Bloc Loc rulers. The ruler sizes mentioned were the 1 x 2 inch, 1 1/2 x 3 inch, and 2x4 inch finished sizes. Is that the size of ruler that you order, or do I need to add a half an inch to those measurements? If I need to add the 1/2 inch, that's a problem, because I don't see those sizes on the Bloc Loc site. The 5 inch finished half square triangle was also recommended, but they only have a 5 1/2 size or a 4 1/2 inch size. So it's kind of confusing if you know what I mean. Clarification would be appreciated. I'm finishing up ironing all my fabrics, and will be ready to start piecing soon. I may wait till after Monday's show though. Thanks for the help. Donna

Thank YOU, Donna! I would definitely say go for the embellishments! I just added a few buttons, but I could have added a lot more "stuff", had it not been for the fact that the quilt was going to have to be a kit. But, I LOVE embellishments, and they would be great on this quilt!Back to Quilting!

In the instructions for the A block, it mentions the blanket stitch which is #46 on the Bernina 440. I know a blanket stitch on my 830. What is stitch #161 that is used for bias applique? I'll assume I have some equivalent stitch. I never realized a different stitch should be used if it was bias.
Thanks,
Lorna

I just read on a Yahoo group that it is #720 on the 830. The stitch goes forward, backward, forward, left, right (or mirrored), so much I found on my 440 but was then interrupted before I found it on the 830. Another person wrote the number on the group
