When is it a two quilt night???

Mid Jan. is when 2024 winter came to north Idaho. We had a unusually low snow winter until 2 weeks ago.
On this past Friday Jan. 12th, the temp. got down to -18 outside. And you know when things get that cold
the utility company sometimes hasa hard time keeping the power on. So the power went out and I went to a guest
bedroom and got a second quilt, that I made quilts some time ago.. It is the Latte quilt. It is a Bernina
design, but I did it on my Husqvarna, my one and only machine for the last 25+ years. The other quilt on the
bed was my Glacier Star, with birds of north Idaho. My husband alway thinks of my quilting as an art thing.
But those 2 quilts kept us toasty warm. And yes the power is back on, but the temp is -12 right now. The
pictures are from another time, not this week but it is always fun to give some visuals. HelenW

North Alabama is due to get snow, sleet, freezing rain and temps below freezing non stop for the next 6 days. That will bring life to a standstill here. Glad I have plenty of hand sewing I can do if we lose power. It’s always a two quilt night here in the winter.

i will walk today, it will be about 38 for the high. I just really bundle up for the 90 minute power walk. Still work up quite a sweat. Tomorrow I may have to stay home on the elliptical, not my favorite.
