    FMQ rulers

Do Angela Walter's FMQ rulers work with the Bernina FMQ foot #72?

Yes, the longarm size, 1/4” thick.

Thanks, Barbara. I was a hand quilter. Arthritis is moving me to free motion. Finally getting better at that ... thanks to lots of online help from Lori Kennedy, Angela Walters, Leah Day, etc. The ruler use looks interesting and I want to give it a try. Ordered the foot but have no rulers. Will probably order a couple and see if it feels possible to me. If not, I will just continue to practice with free motion. It is starting to be fun ... couldn't say that at first as it looked so much sloppier than my hand quilting did! Everything just takes perseverance, though! Thanks for the information.

Eileen, I have written about ruler work several times on my blog. Here is a post featuring my favorite ruler, the Line Tamer:

Good rulers from Natalia Bonner and Amanda Murphy. Both have lots to offer on their websites, including some free lessons.

Enjoy, my hands can’t quilt for hours anymore either.

Many thanks! This is very helpful. I appreciate the willingness of quilters to share and act as cheerleaders!
