Great border, it settles the quilt with all the detailed piecing and colours.

I really struggled with this one. Couldn't incorporate the Kaffe fabric to my satisfaction. So removed those blocks and remade them with bluebonnet fabrics and polka dots.
I learned so much. Thank you for the inspiration.

I’ll probably send this out for quilting. Previously this quilt grew too big for my design wall, well here it is finally.

I struggled with the border... too many opinions, (the men here didn’t care for HST or other blocks). The I found this Philip Jacobs in my LQS, 1/2 yd left on the bolt, and low and behold it was the exact colors I was looking for!!! And just enough! Thank you, Alex for this fun class. And yes, I did label, too. Now to figure out binding, and voila.... done! From, Anita S in Costa Mesa, CA!

I luved this idea. looking in my stash, I had 2 pkgs of Colourwheel hand dyes, a light and a medium. But not too many Kaffe fabrics. I did have a chunk of inspiration! I really liked the Double X block. With such a busy theme I settled on the single block. Having a light area surrounded by darker fabrics appealed. I wished I'd made the setting triangles bigger so the blocks would float but settled on a aqua flap to draw out the aqua in the theme fabric. Careful math allowed a small border. phew! I only had about a six inch square of fabric left. Might use the orange as the binding. Now to figure an all over quilt design. Luved the whole project once I followed my creative conscience!

Almost finished, just need to sew on borders. Extra blocks are going on the back. Great class, learned a lot.! I have been following the basket quilt classes but not making the blocks now. Working on the Face project and looking forward to the Holiday Quilt.

To mbird, your quilt is beautiful. I love the sashing. It helps calm down a very busy quilt and makes the blocks stand out beautifully. Great job. Love the border too.
