Cannot thank you enough for your excellent pointers for making piecing of quilts more accurate: Glue stick to secure corners and pining 1/16" on each side of the seam line has all helped immensely. Thanks again.

I don't know if you will be able to open my quilt photo or not. I am having a very difficult time trying to get the photo inserted. Please let me know if this did not work.

Calling it done! Like me, it’s not perfect. Quilt will finish at 48x48. The red with white dots is backing fabric.

Loved the lessons from Alex and also learning from this Mysterious and talented TQS quilting community. The individuality of each quilter’s interpretation is inspiring.
Thank you all! -terri. (I wish I knew how to rotate photo 90 degrees to the right!)terri s.

I hesitate to post my finished project as it is not as sophicated or techically perfect as many who have posted. However, my goal was to challenge myself: (!) working with color; (2) trying to imcorporate Alex's lessons to improve my blocks; (3) making more difficult blocks. I had a small amoun of Kaffe farbric from another project. that I used as my inspiration. I did not have many solid fabrics so I used those fabric colors to purchase the fabric from pictures on the Bay Quilts website. That was a real challenge! While this quilt would never win an award I have learned so much from the process. My quilt is simple but also pleasing in its simplicity--at least it is to me. I agree the Block Tool Book is fantastic. I also got a color wheel, which I needed anyway, and found it invaluable for this project. . So for those of you quilters out there who may be new to quilting, I hope my simple little quilt will give you confidence to step out and try something new. Thanks Alex for giving me the confience to make that step!

I was not one of the lucky ones to get the Kaffe fabric, so I just pulled from my stash. After making several of the blocks, I happened to look over at a pillow I had made a few years ago using salmon canning labels--it had the same color scheme as my blocks! I pulled out the rest of the canning label fabric and incorporated into my quilt with the blocks. Since I live in the Pacific North West (Astoria) where the salmon canning industry started in the 1800, I felt it was a win. I have been quilting for many years, but I have really learned so much about precision piecing and use of the color wheel. Thanks so much Alex.
