    #Quarantine Quilt

I finished my #Quarantine Quilt, but didn't know where to post it. It is from a pattern by No Hats In The House that caught my eye at QuiltCon in Austin at the beginning of the year before the shutdown happened and we were all quarantined. Debated about the subject matter, but what could be more perfect after all that has happened? I even included a phrase on one of the blocks...."There's always something!". A VERY challenging quilt, but just what I needed at the time.

It's wonderful!! I love the colors intermixed with the black and white. Maybe this is a topic that others of us who have done quilts in quarantine can post to. I finished a couple of quilts a while back but haven't gotten my quilt mojo back, let's see what I have to get a photo of. Kathy

I don’t know if this is right place to post this message but I’m still learning my way round the TQS website. I wanted to say a big Thank you Alex for all your wonderful classes since lockdown began.
I began quilting when living in France about 20 years ago (I joined a local patchwork class to improve my French) and absolutely everything was done by hand. Since moving back to England I’ve been to a number of groups where everyone has machine pieced and quilted but I’ve never managed to achieve any accuracy in cutting or piecing. I retired at the end of July and set myself a target to improve my quilting before quilting groups reopened. When searching for piecing guidance I found your classes and everything finally made sense - I started on a scrap quilt with about 450 half square triangles so I’m putting your teaching into practice. Here’s one of the blocks to show where I’ve got to so far.
      Thanks again Alex

My Kaffe mystery quilt is also a quarantine quilt, but what isn't these days? Blocks are wonky on purpose, a la Jan Mullens style. A challenge to myself to think outside the box.
