    printable ink jet photo sheets

I have spent an ridiculous number of hours in the past few days trying to get a photo printed and removed from backing using ]Printed Treasured . the package of 5 was purchased 2 weeks ago at Joann's in Watertown (Retail for about $25/5pack) The package had an enclosed "pink sheet correction" modifying instructions for removing the backing (using dry iron to paper backing) . THAT didn't work, Using steam per a recommendation on line (given to quilter by Printed Treasures) didn't work.. Finally followed recommendation from on line to soak WITH paper backing on in cold water for 5 minutes. I was able to remove the paper backing - using a laborious process of "rolling" the backing paper off in little bits . This gave a usable product even though I could still feel the adhesive on the back. IS there a reasonable way to remove the backing? I have received NO REPLY from an email sent to the company. Any suggestions re working with this product OR other better product. ?

I've used Printed Treasures a lot through the years and have never had a problem with the backing. All of my quilt labels are made with this. All of mine are pretty old, purchased with 50% off coupons years ago, so they could have changed the way they make them. I've always printed the image, let the page sit for 10 minutes or so for the ink to dry, then pulled off the paper backing before any ironing or anything else. That's what my instructions said to do. The I iron the image with a dry iron, being sure to lift the iron up when moving it. Then rinse in cold water and iron dry. The only problem I've had is the fabric can get skewed when pulling off the paper since it sticks on really well so you have to be very careful and sometimes have to adjust the fabric while ironing.
