Had a funeral for a nephew Sunday, trying to walk off fat...4 to 5 miles a day, just finished quilting a Quilt of Valor, designing a baby quilt for up-coming grand-baby girl, quilted a jelly-roll quilt for church, and thinking about getting back to this month's BOM.
Marilyn, I've been wondering the same. I'm figuring at this time of the year, maybe folks are trying to get loose ends tied up because the holidays are coming.

Last mug rugs going in the mail tomorrow. Then I have a few UFO's I'm determined to finish before the new year! I haven't seen the new BOM for next year; I understand that they reveal it in Houston. I would like to have my quilting plate clean enough that I can join you gals in the adventure, or at least another CW do-it-yourself challenge. It's fun staying in touch.
So many ideas...like a red and white block swap..wouldn't that be fun? 8) In the new year? I've always wanted to make a red and white quilt.

I have been visiting and having visitors. Been sewing but it's been clothes. I haven't begun working on the CW Christmas challenge. The visiting/visitor thing will be over 10/20 and I am hoping that the last 10 days of the month will offer some time to get some Christmas stuff on the way. Hoping to have something to post by 11/1. Got a chance to view the new show today and I am intrigued with prayer flags, paint sticks and playing. I've missed everyone too.

Rosemary you're completely crazy! It's got so much work in it.
The new show was a bit different. I'm going to make some prayer flags for a swap on my Chicken Forum but not with paints this time but following the Tibetan theme with the colours and words. Better get on with it got to post by 24th. My CW is done but rather odd, hope my friend isn't insulted.
Ritzy we go through spells like that hope you get it back after a rest. When I asked my friend if they'd lost their mojo they looked aghast, presumably it means something else here

I am here too. I have been getting ready for our state quilt guild retreat which starts tomorrow. I just remembered, I am to take a hat of some sort. I am guessing it is to be decorated with quilting items. I am also scheduled for a knee replacement next week so I am trying to figure out how to move things around so I can navigate with a walker. I have also been babysitting my 4 year old GS. Today I take him for a physical. This afternoon I take a SIL to the eye doctor. I need to get groceries so DH can eat while I am gone.
Then there is laundry to do and packing. I need to leave at 6am. I have to do pre-op. on the way through St. Louis.
I have washed my batik fabrics and have been ironing/starching them. I am making a cathedral window with black background. I thought that would be a good hand work project while I am on retreat and also while recovering. So I need to cut 396, 2 1/2 inch squares. I have 76 different batiks, so 5 or 6 of each will work. Of course after a few I may turn it into a table runner instead of a queen size quilt.  Now, is anyone else tired after reading this?
Terrie, I have been collecting red and white fabric for a couple of years. That sounds like a good swap, but I don't know if many like red and white. Maybe Alex would join in with her new line.
Rosemary, that is my favorite type of vacation! Of course our tent is a little more primitive. Only bad thing is, DH says he is too old for that any more. He is only a year older than me and even with my bad joints I would go in a minute. Now we go rent a cabin. We do love to canoe as long as we can get in and out without taking a dip.

I am in Ritzy's camp. Lost my mojo.
Could be because I am taking care of my mother a lot more now. Driving her to doctor appts, grocery and keeping up with her various ills. She is declining and it is very sad to watch. Also, my daughter, SIL and GS are staying with us which takes up sewing time. It is fun for them to be here, but tiring sometimes.
We got our first rain today and it's a good day to stay in sweats and sew.
Miss you all!

I think I've been "floxed". Google it if you want to know what it means. It hasn't slowed me down much. I've been busy getting ready for a retreat group coming to my country home tomorrow. Several people have asked if I ever get tired. By staying busy I can mostly ignore the aches and pains that I'm not used to having. Besides I have so much I need or want to do. Next I plan to catch up on a lot of bookkeeping. That will take awhile so am not sure when I will get back to quilting, but hopefully soon. It sounds like everyone is keeping busy.
