Best way to hang this?
I made this little wall hanging as a gift for my grandparents; when I showed my grandma the diary quilt top, with 4 of the 25 blocks being things directly related to her/them, she cried. So, of course I had to find a way to gift those blocks to her. I made a 5th block (the center block), did them in black & white (she likes modern), set them as a film strip negative (my grandpa is a devoted photographer), custom quilted each block on my home machine, which I think turned out great, and now need to finish it off with binding and some way for them to hang it on the wall.
It's 12" x ~ 36". Would the little corner triangles for a dowel rod work? full hanging sleeve?? Loops on top to put a rod through? other ideas???
I am leaning towards the corner triangles, as I don't want anything visible, and then if they decide instead to frame it or something, they can. Or use it as a table topper, etc. But would it work, being as long as it is?

I looks good and your grandmother will sure enjoy it
I don't know if they'll hang it up, or use it on a table, or what, but I want to know how to instruct them just in case

Now that you all say "short end up" I wonder if I should have done it differently.....
I quilted a Christmas tree in the center of the Christmas star, and quilted/oriented the plane as though it is flying......it didn't even dawn on me to do a vertical arrangement instead! oops.
It pretty much has to go horizontal, due to those components..... Luckily she has plenty of wall space, and a hanger/sleeve on back shouldn't interfere if she wants it as a runner instead.

you have found a very useful tutorial on the sleeve. I checked it to see if it incorporated the extra room for the rod. I remember people here on the forum saying that they never heard of that when it was presented somewhere on this show. It's pretty important to make a quilt hang flat. What to put in it? I do exactly the same as in tutorial two except that I drill holes in the rod and I don't put them in the middle but in the upper half of the rod.
The rod is slightly shorter than the quilt and the sleeve slightly shorter than the rod, so my holes are easy accessible . Hope this is clear.
