    Protecting your quilts from insects

How do you protect your quilts from the little critters that want to eat them?
I think in the UK that is usually moths, is there a spray that one can safely use?.
I only have one quilt hanging up and I vacuum it regularly but the moths are quite small so might miss them.

On the subject of critters my daughter was bitten in her garden by "the Blandford Fly. She had 10 really nasty bites on her lower legs.I had never heard of this creature and my daughter ended up having to have a course of Antibiotics and antihistamine medication. I've mentioned this especially for anyone with small children. I don't know if this is only in the UK. Sorry to go off topic. Here is the link for information.

Many dry cleaners will place comforters in square plastic bags that have a zipper, but the best feature is a porous cloth material on the ends to allow air to enter - but not anything with legs! They are also available online. Look at dry cleaner supplies. 8)

What about the good old 'lavender sachets'. Easy and fun to sew, pretty to have, fab fragrance in your closet, and so effective against the unwanted creepy crawlies.
I purchase organic lavender flowers (buds) at the pharmacy by the pound... Not cheap, but good for teas, cooking, infusions, sachets, pillows and whatever else you can think of.
Oh, if you have an old sachet or two somewhere in your closet, you will want to replace the contents periodically, essential oils disappear into the air in time . If all you can smell is dust, that's all there's left!
