Ann, thanks for your wonderful post reminding us that miracles happen and that the caregivers need our thoughts and prayers also. We just need to knuckle down and keep the prayers and positive thoughts moving their way for years if necessary and try not to be sad about this, but positive in our love and prayers.

Totally agree with you Ann. Miracles happen al the time, Libby still been alive after all she's gone thru is one of them. I have heard and read from Deepak Chopra and others that neurological paths can be created no matter the age or even if there's been some damage. Everything can be learned again, it might take time and effort and exploring lots of different techniques but is possible. We keep praying and believing that Libby will fully recover, she's part of a greater purpose and is still needed by her family, friends and fellow quilters. May all involved have the strength to get thru this trying time and see the fruit of their efforts with Libby's regained health.

Tuesday's update, so far
Written 13 minutes ago by Ellen Askey
Still waiting for TIRR evaluators to show up.......... Lord, please give us patience, immediately.
Ray of sunshine - Libby uttered two sounds today, as reported by her PT therapist - sounded like "yea" in PT and "ah" when returned to bed. Lester's comments on this were -
"As far as I know, these are the first sounds she has made since that fateful Wednesday of her surgery. Don't know what the sounds mean but sure encouraged me. "

Hello TQS family. Since Libby is presently unable to understand neither the spoken nor written language. I would suggest that any cards sent to her in the near future include funny photos, or cartoons that do not require language to understand. Jokes would be good for the family's morale, but pictures, drawings, cartoons would be best for Libby (methinks!)

I've put The Caring Bridge-Libby Lehman-journal in my favourites, there are photo's and information about Libby on there.
I look many times a day.

Thursday 6 June
I've just looked on the Caring bridge website and there is a new post from 11 hours ago from Ellen Askey.
I don't know how to copy it to this site and my IT specialist DH is out at the moment.
Still praying and keeping Libby in our thoughts.

(If you have seen the episode of the Quilt Show where "Flat Rita" makes an appearance you will get the idea.) It doesn't take up a lot of space in a greeting card, and imagine her room covered with Flat insert your name here images from her TQS followers and admirers. I glued my image to a flat stick (like a popsicle stick only wider - found it in my first aid kit.)
[I have an image of my picture on a stick on my profile page.]
What do you think? Libby might not be able to understand language, but her sisters have been saying that she responds to images.

Post Note: Margo has asked me to contact the family and get their permission before suggesting that they receive the images. I will do this. I can't find a way to make my post "invisible" without deleting it.
Here is the response from Libby's sister, Cathy.
I think it sounds adorable! Go for it! Thanks for such a clever idea,

Cathy,
I sent a card to Libby, along with a "head shot" glued to an over-sized Popsicle stick. It was a fun thing that we did on the Quilt Show to have a member from Ireland (Rita Connolly) "travel" with us. We called her Flat Rita and took pictures of her in different locations. It became popular on the quilt show to post photos of the Flat Rita in different locations around the world.
I thought that it might be a show of support for Libby to ask folks to take a photo of themselves and glue it to a stick and send it to Libby as their own Flat image. The images would represent our presence with Libby and family.
Margo Clabo has suggested that I contact family and get permission before you get deluged with responses.
So I am asking for permission. I will attach the information that I originally sent.
Unless I receive a response, I will assume that the answer is NO. [She said yes!]
Regards,
Diane Frank
