Make a needlebook
I put instructions for making an old fashioned needlebook on my personal blog. I love mine. I find I use it a lot even though I am not a hand quilter. Here's the link: http://blog.bjfabricartist.com/2013/...eedlebook.aspx.

It's beautiful, Betty Jo. I like the look of the embroidered silk.
Funny, how we often make the same things. I just made one for my friend for her birthday. I did not put several pages in it as I find that confusing myself. Mine is a batik with a bit of quilting and decorative seams.

Beautiful, Betty-Jo!
And they are so practical as well!
fabulously beautiful and such an appreciated gift. Mine is in use almost every day and people always have to take a good look at it and congratulate me on this fabulous prezzie! Sitting here soaking my toe in Epsom Salts (saw Podiatrist yesterday... glad I didn't watch him operating, cuz it's ugly enough now!) and catching up on Forum posts on my handy-dandy iPad. This thread is very timely, because I needed reminding that I have not finished my needle organization book. I'm pitiful at FMQ, and wanted to do that on the exterior. I cannot find it to share with you now, but I had found a downloadable PDF (or was it an Excel file? which means anyone could create their own) of a table with rows of needle types, and columns of needle sizes. Each "cell" in the table is large enough to hold up to 8 needles of the same type/size. The descriptions are in green ink, and the horizontal and vertical lines are in black. I printed it on printable fabric on my inkjet, and it's waitinggggg to become the inside of my used needle book.
This is especially handy for me, since the hand tremor makes my handwriting so indecipherable, I wouldn't want to write on the pages of the needlebook every time I added a new type of needle to it.
At least recently I bought a Sterilite wheelie stack of drawers to go under my sewing machine table, AND, this is a stunner, I actually sorted out a bunch of WIPs and put them in the drawers, along with the thread I was using, the instructions, etc. So, I DO know where this needlebook project is, lolol.Lotti, Kuessnacht - Switzerland
