Been there, done that!! You're right, it is not fun. I did not want to remove the quilt from the longarm frame, so sat my SM on it the longarm table and sewed alittle, shifted machine and sewed alittle more. It was a pain. :xOriginally posted by MargoMeasure twice....Cut once!
Just be sure that when you mount the backing on the long-arm frame that it is oriented in the right direction or when you get to the end you need to cut 3 inches off one side and add it to the bottom!! NOT FUN!!
Another time, I was hand quilting a baby quilt for my boss. When almost done, notice the backing had shifted. Not enough backing left. I had to remove all the stitching and redo. I was thankful it was only a baby quilt, and not larger. Boss was happy, I got paid, but I learned a lesson there too.

Golly Gee Whiz !! Nearly every single thing that has been mentioned..I've done the same or almost the same
thing in my quilting history !!

ops: Here's another fun one...Had a quilt that had many long lines
of large rick-rack as an extra embelishment...I sewed it on first...then loaded the quilt on the handy quilter frame
and quickly found it couldn't be done !! Misread the instruction ! Had to remove all that rick-rack and and guess what?
It is still in the UFO pile! And now I can't find the backing that was made for it... have the batt but not the king
size back :!: :!: :!: :!:

I didn't have any difficulty at all sewing my supreme slider to the bottom of my quilt(someone ask how you could do that--if I remember correctly, I forgot to put the feed dogs down and they moved it enough for the needle to caught hold and after that it was simple).
I can remember, in my days of making clothes, making a top from a double knit fabric. I had tons of problems with said fabric because it had a shiny finish to it and it didn't want to feed evenly. Needless to say, by the time I got to the place of putting the sleeves on, I wanted to be done with it. Here is the problem--the sleeves were very full and were to be gathered at the wrist and they were raglan. The pattern called for you to sew the front and back together first, unfortunately the front and back were close to the same size as the sleeves and I sewed the sleeves together three times before I got it right. Remember how hard it is to rip double knits? I never was very fond of that blouse after that.

[/quote] Another of my all-time favourites (not) is to try to do decorative stitches while my 1/4" foot is still attached. I have lost count of the numbers of needles I have broken.

Oh yes, this is probably the most amazing feat I've accomplished repeatedly! Now I have a machine that can be restricted, but only when told to do so.

I had finished most of the quilting on a wallhanging when I noticed that the backing fabric was the wrong side up. I left it and wrote across the back with a permanent marker: "Oooops!"
Oh yes, I managed to firmly attach my t-shirt to a quilt when doing some hand quilting. From the edge of Sherwood Forest, home of Robin Hood

It's nice to be part of this club!!
I used to make quillows to sell, which meant I made many of them. I can't tell you how many times I pin basted the quillow together with straight pins and as I was leaning forward sewing, I would poke myself in the, um, well, "chest"! OW!!! Is it worse that it's happened more than once? Good Grief!!

One good thing. You were able to post in the Forum. I recommend that you take a break and watch the new TQS Episode that just came out today. Perhaps it will work better if you take a break and have some fun. Here's hoping you can get that to work!Originally posted by ritzyYou will have a hard time convincing me of that as I am trying to learn how to work with Windows 8.
