I think my blocks are inside out and backwards. I followed the directions from the video on Accuquilt. My squares are not a traditional log cabin block. In Judy Martin's book, she calls this a "corner square block". Sheesh do I have a lot to learn! :?

From what I've seen and read, that's what makes the log cabin such an enduring block....it's so very versatile! Some people focus on hexies, others on Baltimore album; I can see focusing on log cabins for a long time! Nancy

I agree with you Nancy. I've loved log cabins forever and Judy Martin's book is a true inspiration.

I made another block, classic way of piecing this time, and like it a lot better than what I was doing. I'll have to come up with something creative for the first blocks.

Susan, I'm loving how your first blocks are looking. Those would make up a darling kitchen table topper. I've been cutting hexies today with my Go cutter. I'm up to about 850 now I believe. I'm guesstimating I will need about 5500 or so for a king size quilt -- so far I'm having a blast.

Have fun and thanks for posting some pics!

I've not been able to find the Accuquilt Log Cabin dies on their website.
Typing in log cabin die gets me several patterns but no dies. What am I
              missing? :? :? :?

I like the log cabin. I think it is a versatile pattern and is one I generally do as a grooms quilt.

I am wanting to do a wedding quilt in 2013 but their die appears to be missing a piece in the arc. Anyone ever used this die?

Do you mean a double wedding ring? Here's the first part of a 3 part Youtube by Ebony Love on using that die.

I'm machine piecing. Just now having some coffee after sewing until 3:30 pm this morning. It was fun, fun, fun! Today I have to cut more black triangles to go on the hexies.

Here are a couple pics of my in-progress blocks. This is a really fun quilt to make and thankfully friends are helping me by gifting me 4 by 4 inch squares so that no two fabrics will be repeated. I'm not paying much attention to what goes next to what because the black triangles are my calming links.
