EQ7
Hello Everyone,
I just loaded my EQ7 and really love it! It is much easier to use than I feared. Uh oh, I now have a new quilt-related obsession
But, one question please: what is the best way to import fabrics from your own stash - camera, scanner, etc.?
Have a fun quilting day
and many thanks.

Here is a video showing you exactly how to do it! http://doyoueq.com/lessons_categories/video/
If this page changes, search the site for: Featured Lesson: "Using Fabric Scans in your EQ7 Project"
There are a LOT of great videos on the http://doyoueq.com/ web site.

I used my camera, but when the fabric has a pattern repeat, it's annoying that only a small part of one repeat is shown. Does using a scanner help that?
I like that I can tweak my jpg files so the image on my particular computer screen display the colors realistically before I import them into EQ7. I put a ruler on the fabric so it's visible in my photos, then I try to scale the photo so that the ruler is "real size", save it, then crop the ruler out of the photo...
Any tips on improving pattern repeat capture? Oooo, I'm going to check out that "do you eq" website, thanks!

Hello again,
Thank you for your suggestions. Marge, those videos were just the thing and I found the ruler to be very helpful too. Best of all, I discovered that my own printer is also a scanner! Not being a techie I was pleasantly surprised when I imported, cropped, and manipulated my fabric in the EQ7. (This is not an advertisement). I really like the program and am so glad to see my schemes before I cut & sew. A great learning tool! Everyone should try it!

WHOO-HOO!! Good for you murphgirl!!
If you want to try something else kind of techy, try to add your signature to the TQS forum!! You will have to follow the directions precisely....it took most of us several tries before we got the look we wanted!
You will find the directions here: http://forum/forum-questions-and-sug...s-on-the-forum
Have fun!
